Lead replaced on house roof by builder but who does removed scrap lead belong to?

We have had the lead replaced on our roof. Given the price of lead has soared recently, who does the old lead [that was removed by the builder from our roof] belong to? The day after it was removed, we asked for it.

The lead belongs to you unless you specifically made its disposal for scrap part of the agreement with the builder to be offset against any payment due for the work undertaken...
